Report: West Bromwich Albion, Norwich City to battle for Rickie Lambert signing

A report suggests that West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City will compete to sign Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert.

West Bromwich Albion and Norwich City will reportedly battle it out for the signature of Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, and his departure could be hastened by the impending arrival of Christian Benteke from Aston Villa.

The Baggies and Alex Neil's side are ready to open discussions with Lambert's representatives over a possible switch, although Liverpool want to recoup the £4.5m they paid Southampton for the England international's services last year, reports the Daily Mail.

Lambert made 36 appearances for the Reds in all competitions last season, scoring three goals.
