Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will reportedly be handed a transfer budget of £20m for the summer window.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will reportedly have just £20m to spend on fresh talent during the summer transfer window.

The Northern Irishman has maintained that he will need to strengthen at the end of the season, with a new centre-back being the main priority due to Jamie Carragher's impending retirement.

Despite Rodgers's need to sign new players, the club's owners will give the boss a £20m budget and whatever he can accumulate from the potential sale of Andy Carroll, according to Cheshire Today.

Meanwhile, the Reds will be without striker Luis Suarez for the first six games of the campaign due to his 10-match suspension for biting the arm of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.
