Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly turn their interest to Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, should Gareth Bale move to Real Madrid.
Bale has been a target for Madrid for the majority of the summer, with the Spanish giants said to be preparing a world record-breaking £100m bid for the Welshman.
Spurs have so far refused to enter into discussions with the Spaniards, but are preparing for life after Bale by looking into the possibility of landing the Reds' forward, according to The People.
Suarez has repeatedly asked to leave the Reds this summer, firstly citing incessant media attention in England, before stating that he wanted Champions League football next season.
Spurs cannot offer Suarez that prospect, but feel that they could persuade the 30-goal Uruguayan to move to White Hart Lane if they are armed with the mouth-watering figure they would receive for Bale.
Suarez has been training on his own following an outburst last week where he claimed the Reds had broken a promise to him.
Manager Brendan Rodgers recently revealed that the player had to apologise to his teammates before returning to the first team setup.
