Liverpool's Luis Suarez apologised for bite to force Barcelona move?

Luis Suarez's apology for biting Giorgio Chiellini is speculated to have been issued in order to force through a move to Barcelona from Liverpool.

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez may have apologised for biting the shoulder of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini in an effort to push through a move to Barcelona.

The Uruguayan released the apology on his Twitter page, saying that he 'deeply regretted' the incident and vowed to behave on the pitch from now on.

Suarez was sent home from the World Cup in Brazil by FIFA, who issued the 27-year-old with a four-month ban and nine-match suspension from international fixtures.

Widespread reports have claimed that Suarez released the apology in order to orchestrate a move to Barcelona, who are said to be seeking assurances regarding his future behaviour before sealing a deal for the controversial forward.

According to The Mirror, the Catalan giants are confident that Liverpool will allow the prolific striker to leave Anfield due to his latest controversy, which followed previous incidents of biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic and racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra.

Reports have claimed that Barcelona have offered Suarez a five-year contract worth £160,000 per week.
