Sunderland have reportedly opened discussions with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet over signing a new deal at the club.
The 24-year-old has admitted that he wants to stay at the Stadium of Light, despite reports claiming that he is hoping for a move away in order to improve his chances of regaining the number one spot in the Belgium national team.
The club are thought to be keen to tie down the shot-stopper to a new deal amid interest from Premier League rivals Liverpool, according to the Northern Echo.
Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with the keeper.
