Liverpool chairman Tom Werner has insisted that striker Luis Suarez has a future at Anfield and has claimed that new additions will come in January.
Doubts over the Uruguayan's position at the Merseyside club emerged in recent weeks after it was reported that Manchester City were pondering a £40m swoop for the 25-year-old.
When asked if Suarez could be sold in January, Werner said: "Absolutely not. We made a long-term contract with him in the summer and we are going to see a lot of his play at Liverpool.
"He's a beautiful player to watch and as a Liverpool fan I hope I'm watching him for many years to come. Our intention is to strengthen but actions will speak louder than words. But that is certainly our intention.
"We know that January is a challenging time and I don't want to say we've got x or y but hopefully the fans will be pleased with what we do accomplish."
The Reds are currently 11th in the league table.
