Malaga confirm Nordin Amrabat injury

Malaga confirm that Turkish forward Nordin Amrabat will require knee surgery after picking up an injury against Real Madrid at the weekend.

Malaga have confirmed that Turkish forward Nordin Amrabat suffered a serious knee injury in Saturday's goalless draw at Real Madrid.

Amrabat, 28, who was sent off at the Bernabeu, picked up the injury during a clash with Los Blancos defender Nacho, but the initial diagnosis was just bruising.

The swelling did not subside, however, and after ordering tests, Malaga have revealed that he suffered a torn external meniscus in his right knee, which will require surgery to correct.

The Moroccan international, who joined Malaga on a permanent deal from Galatasaray in the summer, will undergo an operation on Friday and is expected to be on the sidelines for a minimum of two months.
