Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti insists that he is planning to remain with the club for the 2023-24 campaign.

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated that he has no plans to leave Bernabeu this summer, with the Italian expecting to again be in charge of the club for the 2023-24 campaign.

Ancelotti has delivered the Copa del Rey trophy this season, but Los Blancos have lost out to Barcelona in La Liga, while they were eliminated by Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Champions League on Wednesday, suffering a 4-0 loss to Pep Guardiola's side in the second leg of their semi-final.

The 63-year-old's future is again being called into question, with his contract due to expire next summer.

Brazil are said to be keen to appoint Ancelotti as their new manager this summer, but the Italian has insisted that he is planning to remain with the Spanish giants.

"There are many links, many rumours about my future as Brazil head coach but trust me, there's nothing concrete. I repeat, I'll stay here at Real Madrid until they want to keep me," Ancelotti told reporters following Wednesday's loss to Man City in the Champions League.

The semi-final was delicately poised ahead of the second leg, with the two teams playing out a 1-1 draw in Madrid last week, but Man City proved to be far too strong in the return fixture.

Ancelotti admitted after the match that the Citizens "deserved to win" due to their superior performance.

"We played against opposition who deserved to win tonight because they played with more intensity and real quality in the first half. They really paved the way to the final there," he added. "They were better than us today like we were last season. That can happen in a Champions League semi-final.

"We didn't manage to implement what we'd planned. It doesn't have to be a drama. We have lost a game against superior opposition on the night.

"We can't think the attitude wasn't right for a Champions League semi-final. It's just a step which means we have to try and be better next year.

"This squad did very well last year and this year. They beat City last year in the semi-final and we won the Champions League, but today we didn't have it in us to play in another final.

"I'm convinced that this squad will do better next season and we're already focused on the next edition of the Champions League, where we want to be top-billing again.

"It's been a good season. There are four games to go and we have to give it our best shot. Hopefully, we can finish well. Reaching a Champions League semi-final is a success because only four teams can reach it. Losing a semi-final can happen."

Real Madrid will now switch their attention back to La Liga, where they are in a battle with Atletico Madrid for second position, currently sitting two points ahead of their rivals in the table ahead of Sunday's clash with Valencia.
