Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini gushes over "perfect" Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says that Kevin De Bruyne represents the "perfect player" following his late winner in the 2-1 victory over Sevilla.

Manuel Pellegrini has said that Kevin De Bruyne is the "perfect player" after Manchester City's £54m man continued to repay his club-record fee with a late winner in the 2-1 win over Sevilla.

The Sky Blues came from behind to boost their hopes of reaching the last 16 of the Champions League when the Belgian struck on 91 minutes at the Etihad Stadium last night.

The 24-year-old now has five goals and four assists in all competitions since his big-money switch from Wolfsburg in August.

"We bought Kevin because we thought he was a very creative player, he has goals in him," the Chilean is quoted as saying by The Mirror.

"This team always tries to play attractive and offensive football and for that you need good players. In all senses he was the perfect player to arrive to our team.

"I think it was very important for him to score. We tried to make some change because we weren't getting into their box or creating chances. Fortunately we created that play that produced the goal."

Yevheniy Konoplyanka fired the Spanish club ahead on the half-hour mark, before an Adil Rami own goal seven minutes later ensured parity at the break.

Pellegrini's men sit second in Group D, one point behind Juventus and three clear of Sevilla in third.
