Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel di Maria has admitted that he was disappointed not to have left more of a mark against former club Real Madrid in tonight's 0-0 Champions League draw.
The top-of-the-table clash in Group A yielded few moments of promise for the Argentine, who spent four years with the Blancos before leaving for Manchester United 14 months ago.
He was withdrawn on 67 minutes at Parc de Princes, and though Di Maria would have liked to make more of an impression, he says that facing his old teammates was "special" regardless.
"This was a special game for me, as I only left Madrid a little more than a year ago. Facing my old teammates was special, even if it didn't turn out great for me," he told reporters.
"We had a lot of chances to win the game. We did that against one of the top four teams in Europe. The important thing is that we were able to pick up a point."
Real, with seven points, sit above Laurent Blanc's side on goal difference.
