Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expresses his pride in his players as they kept their quadruple hopes alive with victory over Cardiff City in the FA Cup.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed his pride in his players after seeing them continue their march towards a potential quadruple with a 2-0 win over Cardiff City in the FA Cup this afternoon.

The Premier League leaders continue to challenge on all fronts as first-half goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling saw them past the Championship high-fliers and into the last 16 of the FA Cup.

City are also in the final of the EFL Cup, 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League and into the last 16 of the Champions League, and Guardiola admitted that he feels his side could be on course for "something very special".

"There are no words to describe the pride I feel about my players and my team. We have played many games and we do not have a big squad because of so many injuries and players with problems," he told reporters at his post-match press conference.

"But they are ready to play every three days and I feel something very special about that.

"Playing in the FA Cup away to a Championship team like Cardiff, who are at the top of the league, is so complicated, but we react again like a mature team. We are in the draw and hopefully we can have a team at home, that is my wish."

Man City are back in action again on Wednesday when they host West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad Stadium.
