How Manchester City could line up against Huddersfield Town

Sports Mole looks at how Premier League champions Manchester City could line up for Sunday's clash with managerless Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium.

Manchester City will look to keep the pressure on Liverpool in the Premier League title race when they face managerless Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium on Sunday.

City could find themselves seven points adrift of the leaders depending on results earlier in the weekend, but they visit the league's bottom club in scintillating form.

The champions have scored 21 goals and conceded just one in their opening four matches of 2019, although this weekend's contest will be their first on the road this year.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how City could line up for the game.

Possible MNC XI vs. HUD

Out: Benjamin Mendy (knee), Claudio Bravo (Achilles)
Doubtful: Vincent Kompany (muscle)

The biggest decision for Guardiola this weekend is whether to start Sergio Aguero - who has six goals in his last three games against Huddersfield - or Gabriel Jesus - who has scored seven goals already this year - up front.

Aguero is now fit again and may be favoured despite Jesus's blistering form, and the Argentine could be supplied by the creative talents of both Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva from midfield.

Kyle Walker returned against Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out and will hope to have done enough to keep his place, although Fabian Delph could come into the team on the opposite side of the defence.

Benjamin Mendy is nearing a return to the starting XI too, although this weekend's match will come too soon for him.
