Vincent Kompany ruled out of Sunderland, Everton games

Vincent Kompany will miss Manchester City's Premier League fixtures against Sunderland and Everton, while he is also a doubt for next week's meeting with Roma.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that defender Vincent Kompany will sit out his side's next two Premier League matches through injury.

The 28-year-old damaged his hamstring in Sunday's 3-0 victory against Southampton, although the Citizens boss initially remained coy with regards to the full extent of the issue.

However, it has now been confirmed that Kompany will miss City's league double-header in the coming days, while he is also a doubt for next week's make-or-break Champions League meeting with Roma.

"Vincent Kompany is not able to play against Sunderland or against Everton, that's sure," Pellegrini is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "We'll see if he arrives against Roma, but that will depend on the opinion of the doctor.

"It's very difficult, because I cannot say without the opinion of the doctor how his injury will improve in the next days. It depends what degree of muscle injury he has. It's very difficult to know in this moment if he can play in Rome."

Kompany has featured 19 times for Man City in all competitions so far this season.
