Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola expects to have Vincent Kompany to call upon against Crystal Palace this weekend, while Ilkay Gundogan may also be involved.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany could return to action against Crystal Palace, while also easing Ilkay Gundogan's injury fears.

The Citizens have been without their key centre-back since the late 2-1 victory over Bournemouth on August 26 due to a troublesome calf problem.

Guardiola revealed last week that Kompany had returned to training, however, and he expects to have the Belgian back in his ranks for the visit of Palace.

Another player who may be involved at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon is Gundogan, who was taken off during the EFL Cup win over West Bromwich Albion in midweek, sparking concerns that he was set for another spell on the sidelines.

"The injury situation is OK," Guardiola told reporters. "Vinny has come back. Gundogan we will see after training today."

City have netted 11 times without conceding a goal in their last two Premier League games, helping them to joint-top of the division alongside Manchester United.
