Striker Sergio Aguero plays down fears that he could face a spell out through injury by claiming that he is fit to represent Argentina on Tuesday.

Sergio Aguero has declared himself fit to represent Argentina on Tuesday night in what appears to be positive news for Manchester City.

It had been suggested that Aguero potentially faced a spell on the sidelines after suffering issues with his calf, but the striker has insisted that he is feeling "pretty good" ahead of his nation's World Cup qualifying fixture with Paraguay.

The 28-year-old told reporters: "I am doing much better. After the match against Peru I had two days to recover and today I played a bit of football. I am feeling pretty good.

"Luckily, the pain that I felt before the Peru match has gone away - it was my adductor and I am positive that to protect my adductor I overworked my calf muscle. I am better though.

"We did some studies, everything looked good and I am trying to be as ready for Tuesday as I can be."

Aguero has started the season with 11 goals in eight games for Manchester City.
