Bayern Munich's Holger Badstuber: 'Pep Guardiola showed no interest in me'

Holger Badstuber criticises Pep Guardiola for not showing an interest in him during his three-year spell as Bayern Munich manager.

Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber has claimed that Pep Guardiola rarely showed an interest in him during his time at the Allianz Arena.

Badstuber spent the majority of Guardiola's three-year spell at Bayern on the treatment table with injuries.

The 27-year-old continues to struggle with injury woes, but has claimed that new head coach Carlo Ancelotti initiates discussion more than his predecessor.

"Our current coach likes to exchange opinions with the players, and so the conversation goes back and forth," Ancelotti told Sky Deutschland.

"That's good too. With Pep, it was different. I would have to approach him because if I want to have a discussion then I will go looking for it.

"Of course it gives you a good feeling when the coach shows an interest. It was a bit different with our previous coach."

Since taking over at Manchester City in the summer, Guardiola has guided the team to 10 victories in 12 games in all competitions.
