Claudio Bravo in line for new Manchester City deal?

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain hints that Claudio Bravo could be offered a new contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City director of football Txiki Begiristain has hinted that Claudio Bravo could be offered a new contract by the Premier League champions.

The 36-year-old missed almost the entirety of last season with an Achilles injury but has featured on two occasions for Pep Guardiola's side during the 2019-20 campaign.

Bravo's current deal at the Etihad Stadium will expire next summer, and there have been suggestions that he would move on in search of pastures new.

Begiristain, though, has suggested that the Chile international will be given the opportunity to extend his stay in Manchester.

"There is absolutely nothing decided. The experience has been fantastic. You have to remember that he has been injured for a year and this is not seen in one or two months," El Mercurio quotes Begiristain as saying.

"After that time, we will make a joint decision, which depends on the two parties, because there is our decision and then there is his, but I want to make it clear that there is nothing settled. Today, we are delighted with him."

Bravo was City's first choice between the sticks during the 2016-17 season but dropped to number two upon Ederson's arrival from Benfica.
