Pep Guardiola challenges Manchester City to make history after the champions equalled the Premier League record for most wins in a season with a 4-1 victory at West Ham United.

Pep Guardiola has challenged Manchester City to make history after the champions equalled a number of records in Sunday's Premier League victory at West Ham United.

The Citizens ran out 4-1 winners at the London to take their tally of league victories this term to 30, matching the record set by Chelsea last year, as well as matching the record of 15 away league wins in a single campaign

In addition, Man City - whose four-goal haul in East London has given them the fastest century of top-flight goals in a single season since 1931-32 - need just three more points to set a new Premier League points record.

"We have a chance to be the best team in the history of England, with more points, we are trying to do it next Sunday [against Huddersfield Town]," Guardiola told reporters at full time.

"You always have to play for something. Once we won the Premier League, the target was the numbers. We have a chance to break the records, but it's not easy, we have to play good. It's good to fight."

Following the home game against Huddersfield, Man City wrap up their league programme by hosting Brighton & Hove Albion and playing away at Southampton.
