Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has reportedly been forced to delay his comeback by a fresh calf injury.
Kompany has not played for the reigning champions since limping out of last month's FA Cup victory over Stoke City.
The Belgian defender was penciled in for a return against Aston Villa on Monday but is being forced to review plans for a comeback by calf trouble in his other leg, according to the Daily Mail.
City boss Roberto Mancini is thought to be optimistic that Kompany will recover in time to play at Villa Park next week.
Kolo Toure and Matija Nastasic proved able deputies in central defence last weekend as City recorded a 2-0 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
