Raheem Sterling reportedly wants to be given assurances that Pep Guardiola will extend his deal at Manchester City beyond 2021 before signing a new contract.

Raheem Sterling has reportedly demanded assurances that Pep Guardiola will extend his deal at Manchester City beyond 2021 before signing a new contract.

It is claimed that Sterling, whose current contract expires in 2023, has been stalling on a new deal that would see him earn £450,000 a week.

Moreover, there have been whispers in the media that Guardiola would not remain at City beyond his current deal lasting until 2021.

According to The Sun, Sterling will not sign any new deal before receiving assurances that Guardiola will stay.

Sterling, who has 14 goals in all competitions this term, has emerged as one of the best players in world football since Guardiola's arrival in 2016.

The Catalan recently confirmed that he would certainly remain at the Etihad until his contract expired at the end of next season.
