Mario Balotelli backs Roberto Mancini to turn things around at Manchester City and regain the Premier League next season.

Ex-Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has declared that Roberto Mancini will make a series of marquee signings this summer to help his former club regain the Premier League title.

City have suffered a largely disappointing campaign, failing to retain their league title and also coming up short in the Champions League.

Despite swapping Manchester for AC Milan in January, Balotelli has offered his opinion on events at the Etihad Stadium, insisting that Mancini will turn things around beginning with success in the FA Cup next weekend.

The Milan forward is quoted by Football Italia as saying: "Roberto will do everything he needs this summer and Manchester City will win back the title next season,

"City will sign two or three of the best players in the world and we will not see a repeat of this season. The FA Cup final has become a very big game for Manchester City, even though it was not the trophy we were all talking about in the dressing room at the start of season.

"Everybody wanted to retain the league and also do well in Europe. But those two things did not work out, so now the FA Cup means everything. I am still a Manchester City fan, though, the club will always be in my heart. I might not be playing in the final this time, but I will be watching my friends as a fan."

The 22-year-old has scored eight goals since signing for Milan, including netting in four successive games at the San Siro.
