Celtic have completed the signing Dedryck Boyata from Manchester City.
The 24-year-old joined City as a trainee nine years ago, but he found it difficult to hold down a regular place in the starting lineup at the Etihad Stadium following his debut in 2009.
The Belgium international has had loan spells with Bolton Wanderers and Dutch side FC Twente, but he has now agreed a four-year deal at Parkhead.
"It feels really good. Celtic are a very big club and it feels good to be a part of it," he told the club's official website.
"The manager came to see me in Manchester and I spoke to him about having me here and all the ideas he had for me playing for the team.
"So I was very pleased with his plans and from that point I thought that moving to Celtic would be a good idea and we tried to do everything right for me to move here."
The defender is believed to have cost the Scottish champions £1.5m.
