Eric Garcia confirms that he will re-join Barcelona on a free transfer from Manchester City this summer.

Eric Garcia has confirmed that he will re-sign for Barcelona on a free transfer this summer.

The Spain international refused Manchester City's offer of a new deal last year, and he has been expected to return to Catalonia when his contract runs out in June.

Garcia is thought to have penned a five-year deal with Barcelona as he prepares to return to his boyhood club, and the defender has now confirmed the move in a recent interview.

Speaking to L'Esportiu about his imminent move to Catalonia, Garcia said: "I have thought about my future and what I think is best now. I think it's a brave decision. I am very convinced of the step I have taken."

Garcia has been included in the travelling squad for Saturday's Champions League final against Chelsea, which would mark his 36th and final appearance in Man City colours should he play.

The 20-year-old only started three Premier League games for Man City in the 2020-21 campaign, making a further three top-flight appearances as a substitute.
