Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany insists that he sees his long-term future at the Etihad despite a disappointing campaign.

Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has insisted that he has no plans to seek a move away from Eastlands.

Kompany has endured a frustrating campaign through injury, further compounded by City surrendering their Premier League title to local rivals Manchester United.

The Belgian international has moved to quash rumours of a transfer and is adamant that he wants to build a lasting legacy with City, alongside quality players like Samir Nasri.

He told The Sun: "I have no reason to go elsewhere. I am happy here, I have five years left and if you knew the plans for this team for the future, I consider that to be a real objective.

"We are already preparing for next season and, if Samir can keep up this level of performance, we will really have an exceptional player."

The 27-year-old signed a six-year-deal to stay at City last summer after lifting his first league title at the Etihad.
