Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has confirmed that the club want to sign Malaga winger Isco.
The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Manchester City, who are now managed by former Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini.
However, he is believed to prefer a move across Spain and Perez has said that Madrid are confident of landing the highly-rated 21-year-old.
"He wants to be a Real Madrid player and Madrid want him," he told Spanish paper 20minutos.
Isco scored nine goals in 37 La Liga appearances last term and would reportedly cost £25m.
