Manchester City have reportedly been dealt a blow in their efforts to sign Benfica forward Darwin Nunez.
The 22-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the season, contributing eight goals and two assists from his 14 appearances in all competitions.
Nunez has only enhanced his growing reputation, the Uruguay international putting himself on the radar of several of European football's top clubs.
However, according to Record, Benfica are only prepared to part ways with their most prized asset if any interested club is prepared to pay his £129m release clause.
The report says that Nunez's representatives have already held discussions with Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Nunez's contract does not expire until the end of the 2024-25 campaign, keeping Benfica in a strong position with regards to his future.
