Manuel Pellegrini: 'Stevan Jovetic will stay here with us'

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini reassures reporters that Stevan Jovetic will be staying at the Etihad after rumours of a move away to the Serie A.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has quashed any rumours of a move away for striker Stevan Jovetic by telling reporters in Pittsburgh: "He's staying here with us".

Jovetic has recently been linked with a move away to Serie A with Inter Milan, having failed to land a first-team place since he arrived at City last summer.

Pellegrini has been quick to dismiss the speculation by telling reporters on their pre-season tour of America: "Stevan is working well with us. He is a very important player for our team.

"Maybe there are a lot of rumours about his future but Stevan will stay with us here."

Jovetic made his move to the Etihad in 2013 after spending five seasons in Italy with Fiorentina.
