Raheem Sterling's future at Manchester City reportedly remains in doubt, despite the club's failed pursuits of Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Raheem Sterling's future at Manchester City beyond Tuesday's transfer deadline is reportedly still uncertain, despite the club's failure to bring in another striker this summer.

The Premier League champions were heavily linked with moves for Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo, but both deals broke down at the 11th hour with Kane choosing to stay at Tottenham Hotspur and Ronaldo instead opting to join Manchester United.

Man City were understood to have agreed a deal in principle for Ronaldo before his U-turn, and were reportedly willing to offer Sterling to Juventus as part of the transfer, having also attempted to use him in a deal for Kane.

AS claims that the England international's standing at the club remains in question, with Man City having spent £100m to bring in Jack Grealish in his position over the summer.

Sterling has started just one of Man City's three Premier League games so far this season, with Grealish being preferred on the left flank for their last two outings.

The 26-year-old's contract at the Etihad Stadium does not expire until 2023, but City are thought to be open to offers for him if it aids their chances of bringing in a more recognised centre-forward.

Sterling scored 10 goals in 31 Premier League appearances for Man City last season, and has netted 115 times in 294 appearances for the club since joining in 2015.
