Manchester City are reportedly set to offer Rico Lewis a new contract after breaking into the first team this season.

Manchester City are reportedly set to begin negotiations with Rico Lewis over a new contract.

The Academy graduate has impressed for Pep Guardiola's side since making his debut as a substitute during a 4-0 win over Bournemouth in August.

Lewis has gone on to make nine appearances for the Citizens this season, scoring his first goal for the club in a Champions League victory against Sevilla.

The full-back has four years left to run on his current contract, which is believed to be worth around £5,000 a week.

However, according to the Daily Mail, City are set to offer Lewis an improved deal over the coming weeks following his breakthrough into the first team.

While talks with the 19-year-old are not yet underway, negotiations are expected to go smoothly, with the Citizens believed to have a good relationship with the player's agency, which also represents his City teammates Cole Palmer and Kyle Walker.

After starting all of City's three matches after the World Cup break, Lewis is set to be involved in Thursday's Premier League meeting with Chelsea.
