The right-back is without a club this summer after his release by Manchester City.
He spent the 2014-15 season on loan with Italian side Fiorentina, making a total of 19 appearances in all competitions for La Viola.
According to PA this evening, Villa have offered the 26-year-old an opportunity to revive his career in the Barclays Premier League.
