Scott McTominay is hoping to have played himself into the Manchester United FA Cup final squad following his start against West Ham United in the Premier League.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has described the prospect of playing in the FA Cup as "every boy's dream".

The Red Devils will take on Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on May 19 for the right to lift the famous trophy.

McTominay, who has broken into the Man United first team this season, started in the club's penultimate game of the Premier League season, a goalless draw at West Ham United on Thursday night.

The Scotland international declared himself pleased with the point at the London Stadium, which clinched second place in the table, but also expressed his hopes of having played himself into contention to take on the Blues at Wembley.

"It was a big point for us tonight," McTominay told Sky Sports News at full time. "It was our objective to finish second but we are disappointed to not take the three points.

"For me personally it was a positive night, me and Luke Shaw had the opportunity to play and impress the staff. It's every boy's dream to play in a cup final so we will see."

McTominay has made 21 appearances for the Man United senior team this season.
