The agent of Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has admitted that his client "cannot have another season like last year".
The 24-year-old made 36 appearances for the Red Devils last term but only featured on 19 occasions in the Premier League, having struggled to impress when given the opportunity.
Van de Beek has not played in either of Man United's two Premier League matches this season, but head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Southampton that the Netherlands international has a role to play for the team in 2021-22.
Guido Albers, who represents the midfielder, is now expecting his client to be handed regular minutes in the first team in the not too distant future.
"Everyone in the club knows that Donny cannot have another season like last year," Albers told De Telegraaf.
"The fans had already embraced him before, but the most important thing is that the trainer has now provided clarity to the English press. We are happy with that. And I assume that Donny will play a lot in one of the positions in midfield in the coming period."
Van de Beek still has four years left to run on his contract with the 20-time English champions.
