David Beckham praises Alex Ferguson

David Beckham heaps praise on Alex Ferguson, crediting him for his success on the pitch.

LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham has heaped praised on his former manager Alex Ferguson, crediting him for his success on the pitch.

Beckham spent ten years under Ferguson at Manchester United before being sold to Real Madrid for £25m in 2003.

"It's been amazing. But that's what happens when you have stability, and a man that is so passionate and hungry, who has the love for one club that he has," Beckham said.

"That loyalty and respect for one club is unbelievable and it's not something you see these days.

"It says a lot about United as a club and the manager."

The 36-year old said that he owes his career to his parents and Ferguson in equal parts.

"It's 50/50 with my parents - that's how highly I regard the boss," he said.

"My parents were the ones who brought me up and helped get me to a certain level in my career, and the manager is the one who took me to a whole different level.

"He's the sole reason why I was successful."

Beckham, who is coming to the end of his contract with MLS side LA Galaxy, has recently been linked with a move to French league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
