Joe Corrigan says that Manchester City will win the league despite their recent hiccup.

Former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Corrigan believes that the Premier League could still be heading to the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens' title bid has stalled in recent weeks and their 3-3 draw at home to Sunderland leaves them two points behind local rivals Manchester United.

Many are now questioning whether City are cracking under the pressure but Corrigan has said that his former club will win the title.

"It doesn't get to you as a player but it gets to the fans," the 63-year-old told talkSPORT. "They become nervous and you can actually feel the tension in the stadium and sometimes it relates to the players on the pitch. This is where Manchester United have a really good advantage.

"Most of their players have been there and done it and a lot of players at City haven't. Some have won trophies but they haven't had the atmosphere of the Premier League.

"It is just a matter of getting to the winning post. Is the mentality of the players strong enough to go right through until the end? I have spoken to the manager and I think they will win it. They've had a little bit of a hiccup but the true mentality and true strength of the manager to take them through."

Corrigan played for City from 1967 to 1983.
