Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly take a £6m pay cut upon his return to Manchester United, earning £385,000 per week as oppose to £500,00 per week at Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to take a £6m pay cut upon his return to Manchester United from Juventus this summer.

The Red Devils announced on Friday that they had reached an agreement with the Old Lady to re-sign the 36-year-old for less than £20m, after the talisman announced his departure from Turin.

According to the Daily Mail, Ronaldo was believed to be earning £500,000 a week in Italy, but his agent Jorge Mendes has now reduced the forward's wage demands to £20m per year, which equates to £385,000 per week.

Those figures will make Ronaldo the highest-paid player at Man United, ahead of goalkeeper David De Gea, who was the biggest earner in the squad prior to the Portuguese's arrival.

Ronaldo is thought to have agreed a two-year contract at Old Trafford, and he could make his second debut for the club against Newcastle United on September 11 after the international break.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored 118 goals in 292 appearances for Man United during his first spell with the club between 2003 and 2009.
