Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has branded Liverpool as "ridiculous" for their handling of the racism saga involving Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra.
Suarez was given an eight-match ban by the Football Association in December 2012 after he was found guilty of abusing Evra during a match between United and Liverpool at Anfield two months earlier.
However, Ferguson believes that Liverpool's decision to give their players t-shirts supporting the suspended Uruguayan striker before a match against Wigan Athletic was a bad move from the Merseyside club.
"Liverpool wore those t-shirts supporting Suarez, which I thought was a ridiculous thing for a club of Liverpool's stature," the Scot wrote in his latest autobiography.
"I felt we handled it well, mainly because we knew we were in the right. The FA asked us several times not to discuss it, but Liverpool would not leave the subject alone."
Ferguson retired from football management at the end of last season following 26 years in charge of Manchester United.
