Sir Alex Ferguson critical of Manchester United's performance

Sir Alex Ferguson was not totally happy with Manchester United's performance during their victory over Chelsea.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was not completely satisfied with his side's performance against Chelsea this afternoon.

Ferguson's men achieved a 3-1 victory at Old Trafford to hold the outright lead in the Premier League table.

However, despite recording a win over a title rival, Ferguson raised his concerns about United's ability to keep the ball.

"It was a fantastic open match," Ferguson told Sky Sports News after the match. "Usually games against Chelsea are tight but this was different.

"We created our own problems at times by the giving the ball away in their attacking areas.

"They could have scored two or three in the first half and at times we were very, very careless."

United hold a two-point advantage over local rivals Manchester City at the summit.
