Sir Alex Ferguson thinks that there is 'no need' for Liverpool and Manchester United to have talks over the racism issue involving Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra.

Sir Alex Ferguson has hit out at Liverpool's attempt to conduct peace talks with Manchester United regarding the racism row surrounding Luis Suarez and Patrice Evra.

Reports have claimed that the Merseyside club want to hold talks with the Premier League champions before Suarez's return from an eight-match ban against the Red Devils on February 11.

"It's nice of them to do it through the press," said Ferguson. "You would have thought they would have come to Manchester United. I don't see why there is any need for [peace talks] to be honest."

The Reds striker recently apologised after being found guilty of racially abusing Patrice Evra in October.
