Jordan Henderson: 'Marcus Rashford has got everything to be great for England'

Jordan Henderson says that young Marcus Rashford has "got everything" to become a "big player" for England after scoring on his debut.

Jordan Henderson sung the praises of England teammate Marcus Rashford after the Manchester United teenager made history on his senior international debut on Friday.

The striker became the youngest ever player at 18 years and 208 days old to score on his England debut.

The striker, who made his United bow in February, found the back of the net three minutes into England's 2-1 victory over Australia in tonight's international friendly at the Stadium of Light.

When asked by ITV Sport about Rashford's ability and possible inclusion at Euro 2016, Henderson said: "[It's] incredible really. He's got no fear, he wants the ball all the time, he runs in behind and to be fair to him, [the goal was] a great finish.

"He's got everything - good on the ball, good movement, finishing is very good for a young lad. He just needs to continue to work and I'm sure he will do. He'll be a big player for England and Manchester United.

"He made an impact tonight and I think if he's given the opportunity [to go to the Euros] I'm sure he'll do very well, but that's up to the manager."

Roy Hodgson needs to trim his 26-man squad to 23 by 11pm on Tuesday.
