Javier Hernandez targeting more Manchester United starts

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez reveals his intention to work his way into the starting lineup at Old Trafford.

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has stated his intention to work his way into the starting lineup at Old Trafford.

The Mexican forward has seen his chances limited at the club of late, with manager David Moyes preferring Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney in the attacking roles.

"I strive for that, I am working towards that, earning a spot as a starter," Hernandez told Telemundo.

"I just need to be given more opportunities to showcase what I can do because all of us want to be able to contribute our part so this team can win championships. Of course, what better way to compete anywhere in the world than to compete with them?

"The competition inside the team has always been really healthy and I think that helps the team a lot, because there are so many quality players that every one of them wants to earn a starting spot."

United are currently ninth in the Premier League.
