Roy Hodgson unconcerned by Adnan Januzaj snub

England manager Roy Hodgson believes that Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has made the right decision to play for Belgium rather than the Three Lions.

England manager Roy Hodgson has insisted that he isn't disappointed by Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj's decision to pledge his allegiances to Belgium rather than the Three Lions.

Januzaj would have been eligible to play for England in 2018, while several other countries were available to the 19-year-old, but Hodgson believes that the midfielder has made the correct decision to make himself available to Belgium.

The 66-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "How can you be upset in 2014 if he goes and plays for one of the other countries that he's actually eligible for? He was born and brought up in Belgium. We can't be disappointed by that.

"It would be very different if he was available to play for us and we passed up the opportunity and he went to play for Belgium. The question would be relevant. But it's not relevant when he can't play until 2018."

Januzaj has been named in Belgium's 27-man preliminary squad ahead of the World Cup finals in Brazil.
