Sir Alex Ferguson reveals that Phil Jones is likely to return to Manchester United training next Monday.

Phil Jones is expected to return to Manchester United training within 10 days after missing the start of the season with injury.

The England international picked up a knee problem in pre-season which has prevented him appearing for the Red Devils so far this campaign.

With Chris Smalling also nearing his comeback, manager Sir Alex Ferguson's only remaining defensive concern will be absent captain Nemanja Vidic.

Ferguson revealed: "Phil Jones should start [training] a week on Monday."

Jones joined United from Blackburn Rovers in 2011 for a reported £16m fee.
