Manchester United defender Phil Jones believes that Tottenham winger Gareth Bale will pose a major threat when the two sides meet in the Premier League on Sunday.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones has insisted that Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale will be a major threat when the two sides meet in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Welshman was on the scoresheet as Spurs stunned United 3-2 at Old Trafford back in September.

"It'll be a test for whoever comes up against Gareth Bale - he's a great player," Jones told the club's official website.

"They have a lot of good individual players, but if we work collectively as a team hopefully we can stop him."

Jones returned to first-team action in November, having missed the first three months of the season following knee surgery.
