Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof says that he will be ready when called upon by manager Jose Mourinho.

Victor Lindelof has insisted that he has "no problem" with his current situation at Manchester United, despite struggling to get into the team.

The Sweden international moved to Old Trafford from Benfica in the summer for a fee believed to be £31m, but he is yet to make a Premier League appearance.

In total, the defender, who had 32 outings for Benfica in the Primeira Liga last season, has featured just three times - twice in the Champions League and once in the EFL Cup.

On Tuesday night while playing for Sweden, Lindelof made a blunder by kicking the ball into his own hand, resulting in a penalty for the Netherlands, who ended up winning 2-0 on the night but failed to secure a place in the World Cup playoffs.

In response to questions about his United career, Lindelof told reporters: "When I get my chance I want to do everything I can to help the team. That's what I've been doing when I play Champions League. So, there's no problem for me.

"I'm just there to do my job. I am enjoying life in England. We are playing well, I have good teammates and good coaches and it is a competitive league. That's what makes it the best in the world.

"We had a very good start and we want to continue and play good football. We have a very good squad. We go game by game. It is a big game on Saturday and we are looking forward to it."

Meanwhile, United are preparing for Saturday's lunchtime showdown against arch enemies Liverpool at Anfield.
