Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and Tottenham Hotspur's Tanguy Ndombele are forced to withdraw from the France squad after testing positive for coronavirus.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 27-year-old has been forced to withdraw from France's squad for the upcoming Nations League matches against Sweden and Croatia, being replaced by Rennes youngster Eduardo Camavinga.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has also tested positive for the virus and has subsequently been withdrawn from the squad too.

France are due to face Sweden in Solna on September 5 and Croatia in Paris three days after that, but manager Didier Deschamps has confirmed that the Premier League duo will now play no part in those games.

"I've completed at the very last minute a change in the list, because Paul Pogba, who was previously on the list, unfortunately for him he carried out a test yesterday which was returned as positive this morning," Deschamps told reporters at a press conference.

"So at the last moment he had to be replaced by Eduardo Camavinga."

Both Pogba and Ndombele will now have to spend 14 days in self-isolation, also ruling them out of taking part in pre-season preparations for United and Spurs respectively.

The news comes after a number of Chelsea players were also forced into isolation following an outbreak of coronavirus.
