Roberto Mancini backs his Manchester City team to recover from their recent decline in form.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini believes that his side can recover from the recent slump which has seen them lose twice in four days.

Mancini's men lost 3-2 to Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday before losing the first leg of their Carling Cup semi-final to Liverpool by a single goal.

The Italian said: "This moment is very difficult, but it is important that we stay very confident. This moment is not a good moment. We have to continue to work and continue to believe in ourselves.

"We did well until three or four days ago, now we have lost two important games."

City will travel to the DW Stadium on Monday evening to face Wigan Athletic in their next Premier League clash.
