Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is adamant that his side can still overhaul Manchester United's nine-point lead in the title race.

Roberto Mancini has insisted that his Manchester City side can still retain their Premier League title.

Following today's 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool, the champions trail rivals and leaders Manchester United by nine points with 13 matches remaining.

However, despite the gap, Mancini insists that his City squad are capable of wining the trophy for a second season in succession.

"There are still 13 games until the end. No, [it is not over]. I think we can recover nine points," the Italian boss told Sky Sports News.

Next up for City is a trip to Southampton on Saturday evening.
