Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has backed Manchester United loanee Angelo Henriquez to become "a real crowd favourite" during his six-month stint at the DW Stadium.
The Chilean international was handed his Wigan debut during the second half of their FA Cup tie with League One outfit Bournemouth yesterday afternoon.
Having hit the bar with a headed effort and caused the Cherries defence a number of problems, Martinez believes that the 18-year-old could go on to be a hit with the Latics.
"There is such a freshness about his play," said Martinez. "Angelo's movement was outstanding and his knack of getting a couple of yards in the box gave him a very good chance, which nearly brought him his first Wigan goal.
"I have a feeling he is going to be a real crowd favourite."
"Angelo tries to be very clever. Because he is not the most physical, he avoids 50-50 contact with defenders but his running into space is really sharp and incisive."
Henriquez joined United during the summer from Universidad de Chile.
