Manchester United attacker Mason Mount has said that he has had "a very good start" to life at Old Trafford despite the team's struggles in the opening two months of the season.

The England international arrived at the Red Devils from Chelsea over the summer, with the 20-time English champions said to have parted with around £55m to secure his services.

Mount has found it difficult to make his mark for Man United, only managing one assist in six appearances, although his season has been interrupted by injury.

The Red Devils have lost six of their 11 fixtures in all competitions this season, including four Premier League matches, with the team currently down in 10th position in the table.

Mount, however, has said that he is pleased with his start to life at the club, with the attacker taking the positives from what has been a testing period.

"It has been a very good start. I mean, integrating in the team, understanding the way the managers wants to play," Mount told talkSPORT.

"I am learning the players around me, how they play. It takes some time to understand that and get into a flow.

"I want to improve my performances but I think that will come over time. Also, performances as a group, I think we are getting there and we will keep continuing to work at that."

Mount also insisted that he was fully aware of the 'pressure that comes with the number seven shirt' when he was handed the jersey upon his arrival at the club.

"Of course I know the pressure that comes with it [No. 7 shirt]," Mount added. "I have been a fan of the likes of [David] Beckham growing up as a kid so I know what he did at this club.

"For sure, there is pressure that comes with the shirt but that is something that I like to have. I want to perform in it and it is a massive, massive club and an iconic number so it really means a lot to me."

Mount is yet to complete a match for Man United this season, and he was again substituted early against Brentford in the Premier League before the international break.

The 20-time English champions managed to beat the Bees courtesy of a late brace from Scott McTominay, and they will now be bidding to build on that result when they head to Sheffield United on Saturday.

Man United have seen Casemiro ruled out of the clash with the Blades due to a problem which he picked up on international duty, but Raphael Varane, Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat are all available after overcoming fitness concerns.
