Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has dismissed suggestions that he has held discussions with France counterpart Didier Deschamps over how to get the best out of Paul Pogba.
The 25-year-old midfielder has struggled to replicate his early-season form in recent weeks, being overlooked for selection numerous times ahead of the two-week international break.
Mourinho is said to have recently reached out to Deschamps in a desperate attempt to reignite Pogba's Old Trafford career, but the Portuguese has strongly refuted these claims.
"Not true," he told reporters at Friday's press conference. "The last time I spoke with Didier Deschamps was probably when we played against each other many years ago. I haven't spoken with Didier in a long time. I also don't comment on my players' performances for their national teams."
Pogba netted for France in their 3-1 win over Russia on Tuesday evening, ending his four-month wait for a goal.
